East Coast Clay

Made using our special blend of Author clay mixed with sand from the East Coast. The finish is a soft creamy colour with a very light speckle, raw and natural like our stunning coastline.

A smooth vitreous (Cone 6) clay that fires to a buttery yellow colour. excellent plasticity, workability and greenware strength. A versatile clay that is suitable for throwing all sorts of functional forms including tableware. Great for throwing larger pieces.

Best applications: Great working properties for coiling, slab work, hand building and wheel throwing.

Mesh: 60# with a 20/40# grog

Bisque: 1000ºC

Glaze fire: 1150 - 1300ºC
